Relief care allows patients to achieve pain relief by the use of modalities (i.e., heat, ice, electric muscle stimulation, traction) for a duration of 1-3 weeks. Our corrective approach takes the relief treatment to another level by detecting the problem, and through rehabilitative procedures, corrects that problem so it is less likely to resurface.

Not all patients will require a comprehensive pain and rehabilitation program. Depending on the extent and nature of the pain problem, some patients may do very well with limited or specific treatments; others may requre a more comprehensive treatment approach. Many experience significant relief or are pain-free after the first few visits. One of the keys to determining the appropriate treatment lies with the evaluation process: a comprehensive history and consultation.

Horizon Health Care Group has set the standard with in-house diagnostic testing to substantiate the need for treatment and the severity of our patients' conditions. So what is diagnostic testing? X-ray would be an example of diagnostic testing. This type of procedure is very common in the private practice. Unfortunately, this particular approach to diagnosis is limited to bone conditions. Most conditions seen in the chiropractic office are soft tissue injuries (i.e., injuries to a nerve, sciatica, carpal tunnel, muscle conditions, disc conditions, ligament conditions, and joint conditions). By testing our patients with nerve conduction velocity and somato-sensory evoked potential procedures, we can further determine the extent of our patients' injuries and it's location. Along with these tests, diagnostic ultrasound is also performed. These tests help the doctors further evaluate joint and muscle conditions (for example, evaluation of scar tissue and/or inflammation).
